The products in the Innovia pipeline are under development and patents have either issued or are pending to protect the applicable intellectual property. The products listed below are currently available for sale, license, funding, distribution, or other avenues of commercialization. Please contact Innovia with any interest for collaboration.
Bariatrics/Gastrointestinal

Due to the fact that Innovia's materials are not affected by stomach acid, as evidenced in a boiling nitric acid test, they can be used for permanent implant applications in the stomach or other areas in the GI system.

Prototypes available:

1) Gastric Balloon - This balloon is similar to traditional gastric balloons; however, use of Innovia's material allows for permanent implantation in the stomach.

2) GERD Inhibitor - This permanent implant blocks gas reflux from traveling through the stomach to esophagus.

3) Gastric Sleeve - Innovia's material component allows this sleeve, which is similar to gastric sleeves on the market, to withstand stomach acids.

4) Laparoscopic Band - This product is similar to gastric bands on the market, but is more biocompatible.

Cardiovascular

The vast experience among Innovia's engineers is concentrated in the cardiovascular arena. Therefore, new products and applications are constantly being developed to improve and replace existing technologies in this field.

Prototypes available:

1) Low Profile Angioplasty Balloon Catheter - The catheter's burst strengths are equal to or better than Nylon with less winging (balloon contracts into a profile less than the parison from which it is blown). Further, the catheter material can be solvent bonded to other materials or itself.

2) Permanently Implantable Embolic Balloon - This catheter can be implanted permanently to facilitate an embolic reaction in an artery.

3) Synthetic Tri-leaflet Heart Valve - Three types of heart valves are in development: sutured-in, minimally invasive, and percutaneous.

4) 4mm Vascular Graft for peripheral and/or coronary bypass procedures - Utilizes proprietary sealant, InnoSeal*, and has shown 93% patency in the canine model which is significantly better than any other synthetic graft tested so far.

5) Stent-graft with Leg-locking Anchor - The legs of this graft lock to the body mechanically allowing for a secure anchor when implanted.

6) Permanently Implantable Indwelling Catheter - This catheter has better properties than polyurethane-based catheters which are the current state of the art.

7) Pacemaker Lead Insulators - The material comprising these insulators will not fracture when implanted and interacts well with metal with no metal-ion reaction.

8) Aneurysm Fillers - Innovia's injectable materials bond to the walls of aneurysms thereby obviating the need for coils or other materials that may cause trauma to the nearby blood vessels or lead to embolus of those vessels downstream.

*InnoSeal IP is owned by InnoGraft LLC.

Cosmetic Surgery

Innovia's Quatroset material has proven to out-perform silicone in most tests and, with similar mechanical properties, Quatroset can easily replace silicone in most applications. Innovia's other materials lend themselves nicely to additional cosmetic applications.

Prototypes Available:

1) Breast Implant Shell - The shell has higher tensile strength than silicone and more elongation. Also, the material will not allow oil to diffuse through it; therefore, implants need not undergo capsular constricture and will not have to be changed out every ten years or so.

2) Breast Implant Gel - This gel is radio-translucent which allows doctors to use x-rays instead of MRI to examine the implanted area after the implants have been inserted. The gel feels just like silicone gel, and may also be injectable.

3) Wrinkle Filler - This filler is permanently implantable, but can also be removed and adjusted.

4) Coring Instrument - The RotoCore® is a major improvement to traditional coring devices. This patented surgical instrument features automatic rotation- that is, the coring punch rotates when downward pressure is placed on the tip. In this manner, surgeons do not need to manually rotate the punch to core out specimens. This and other unique features enable the surgeon to perform coring procedures more efficiently. The instrument can be used for hair restoration, biopsy, etc.
